Summerfruit New Zealand and the Meat Industry Association of New Zealand signed the Government Industry Agreement for Biosecurity Readiness and Response Deed.

The agreement strengthens their fight against pests and diseases which can significantly impact New Zealand’s economy.

By signing the GIA Deed, Summerfruit NZ and MIA join the fifteen other industry sectors which have agreed to work with Government.

The value of the New Zealand summerfruit industry approached $140 million dollars for 2016-17 and is well on the way to reaching its goal of being a $250 million dollars industry by 2035.
