Mosgiel residents are calling for safety improvements at an intersection where motorists crash weekly.

Sergeant Kevin Davidson says the intersection of Church and Wickliffe Sts is a problem.

Motorists are failing to stop in both directions at the stop signs in Church St.

Davidson says it feels like crashes have been happening weekly since Countdown Mosgiel opened in Gordon Rd in February.

The Dunedin City Council says it is preparing to improve road markings at the intersection before the end of July.
