The deluge has eased across Otago but a watchful eye is being kept on the situation, as the Clutha River is near its highest level in twenty years.

Parts of the southern region are in clean-up mode today, with the township of Henley still cut off by floodwaters, and authorities are on standby as another severe weather watch has been issued.
