The final curtain is about to fall on Dunedin's Albany street recording studio.

The studio is about to be replaced by a more modern facility as part of the University of Otagos music facilities.

It was built to the specifications of London's Abbey Road, and a host of Dunedin musicians are fare-welling the place by recording a selection of a former student's tunes.
