The sprinkler system was accidentally set off, resulting in sprinkler technicians having to sweep water from the foyer into the already rain-soaked street.

The sprinkler system has only recently been installed, with technicians saying it looked like a contractor had accidentally hit one of the ceiling sprinklers while plastering.

Four Fire and Emergency New Zealand fire trucks were called to the scene but weren't needed.

A boutique hotel is being developed inside the one hundred and eight year old former Conservation House building.
