Former Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei has spent her time since leaving parliament following creative pursuits.

She's currently studying for an honours degree in fine arts, while also working at the University of Otago.

On Wednesday she gave a talk about her recent artistic endeavours to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society.
