Four members of Queenstown's Sky City Stampede ice hockey team have been suspended, following a brawl during last weekend's match with the West Auckland Admirals.

The all-in brawl occurred just before the end of the second period of the match in Queenstown.

After several days of deliberation, the New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation has suspended four players from each side.

The suspensions range from three games to one.

The Federation says photos and videos were taken into consideration before the punishments were handed out.

Disciplinary coordinator Chris Watson says while a number of players weren't actively involved, it's a timely reminder they need to be responsible for their actions and listen to the directions of the on-ice officials.

For the record, the Stampede won the match three-one... they host the Canterbury Red Devils this weekend
