The nearly 12 million dollar upgrade to Invercargill and Bluff's drinking water system is almost complete.

Work at the Branxholme Water Treatment Plant began in May 2016. Invercargill City Council water manager Alister Murray says once the upgrade's finished in the next few weeks, it will get rid of the 'earthy taste' in the city's water.
