Queenstown police and the New Zealand Fire Service have been at Kelvin Heights carrying out a scene examination after a body was discovered in a flaming car.

Police, including members of the armed offenders squad, swarmed the suburb after reports of the explosion in Jardine Park at 9.30 last night.
