It was a chaos of children, costumes and song in Timaru recently, as preschoolers from across South Canterbury performed at a kapa haka festival.

The preschoolers descended on Timaru's Caroline Bay Hall for the Korohi O Te Pepi, also known as the Singing of the Babies kapa haka festival.

There were eighteen preschools from across South Canterbury taking part.

They performed waiata, dance, haka and poi.
