The patient wait by thousands of commuters in Queenstown is over. Motorists will finally be able to drive on both lanes of the $22 million Kawarau Falls Bridge from mid-afternoon on Thursday.

The bridge which connects Frankton to Kelvin Heights took two and half years to build, which was five months longer than planned.
