It has been revealed the money paid to The Taxpayers’ Union as settlement from Local Government New Zealand is $2,500 dollars.

The settlement follows from a Dominion Post article written by Local Government New Zealand President, Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull.

The article alleges the Union made a number of mistakes in its recent review of ratepayer analysis.

Mayor Cull later retracted the article, also making an apology to the Union.

However, Local Government New Zealand says it stands by its criticism of the utility and relevance of the 2017 'Ratepayers Report'.
