A 28-year-old woman was lucky to get away with minor injuries after her car rolled on the Southern Motorway yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene around nine thirty yesterday morning.

It is thought the car hit the median barrier, flipping dramatically through the air, before landing on its roof in the northbound lane.

The lane was closed for about an hour and the driver was taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries.
