The new cruise ship season gets underway at the end of this month, heralding the arrival of 11 new ships.

Over 254,000 passengers and almost 92,000 crew were among those visiting our shores last season.

In the 2016/17 season there are 791 scheduled visits, which is an increase of 13%.

In Otago there are 96 visits booked between October and May.
