Emergency Management Otago has launched a new website to help residents prepare for, and respond to, emergencies.

It's been designed to assist individuals, schools, businesses and communities in getting ready for any natural hazard.

The website features general advice as well as district-specific information.

It includes community response plans, contact details for local emergency management staff and details about regional welfare centres.

It'll provide critical alerts and information when an event is developing or when one occurs, along with broadcasts by local radio stations.
