Otago is preparing to battle North Harbour for top honours in the championship division of the Mitre 10 Cup.

A captain's run was held at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin this morning, before tomorrow night's big game at the same venue.

It'll be the second time Otago's won if the side is victorious.

Otago's been in seven previous finals of the annual domestic tournament, winning just one against Waikato in 1998.

Former All Black Andrew Hore has been brought out of rugby retirement for the match, to cover injured hooker Sam Anderson-Heather.
