Invercargill Police have released the name of the alleged shooter that left a fifty two year old man hospitalised last month.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Anthony Miles Tamaiti Watkins.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stu Harvey says the warrant is for the shooting of a 52-year-old man on Kelvin Street in Invercargill on Saturday June 30th.

Watkins is 24-years of age and approximately 167 centimetres tall.

Police say he can be unpredictable, and are warning against approaching him.

They say Watkins has connections to Invercargill, Dunedin and the Bay of Plenty.

The victim is still in Southland Hospital recovering and it's unknown how long it will be before he is released.
