Police say a woman accidentally shot in her Queenstown home last week is "recovering well" and will be discharged from hospital this weekend.

The woman was flown to Dunedin Hospital last Monday with gunshot wounds after a man accidentally fired a shotgun in the garage of their home.

Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, says the CIB has interviewed the man and the victim, and their investigation is continuing.
