Wanaka Airport received a big dump of snow at the weekend, but not from the sky.
Two piles of snow were transported by truck from Cardrona Alpine Resort to the airport and dropped on the grassy area in front of the Warbirds and Wheels cafe.
The impromptu winter wonderland was the idea of the cafe's barista who had learned there were Wanaka children who had not had the chance to play in the snow up in the mountains this year.
More than 50 children and their parents took advantage of the delivery.
