The Cancer Society's Daffodil Day saw collectors selling spring blooms in the streets of Dunedin today.

Cancer Society member Emma Brown says the event went well, with volunteers selling thousands of daffodils, stickers and brooches despite the wet weather.

There were 35 teams of volunteers out at different locations around the city, tasked with selling almost 100,000 daffodils.

Brown says the Society did not have a specific fundraising target for the day, noting that every dollar counts.
