Members of the North Island Indoor Bowls team currently touring the South Island, have stopped in at Ashburton College to spend a few hours passing on a some of their expert tips to students.

Chasing the jack, weighting the jack, draw shots and backhanders were just some of terms the students learned as the team members introduced indoor bowls to the college pupils.

Team members were impressed with the levels of skill by the students, despite most being new to the game .

Many impressed the seasoned players with their good skills and awareness of the tactics needed to make the game exciting.

The North Island Indoor Bowls team were in Ashburton to play a local representative team before continuing onto Christchurch to face Canterbury.
