Three men have been charged with firearms offences by Western Southland Police in relation to shooting incidents in July.

Senior Sergeant Pete Graham said that a ute occupied by young males shot a pet goat as well as an outhouse at a remote hut in Rowallan.

Shots were also fired at another hut, scaring the occupants.

Following police investigations, three 17-year-old local Riverton men have been arrested and will appear in the Invercargill District Court next week.
