It's now over 100 years since the advent of World War I, and 2017 is a year of particular importance to the Otago region.

A display at Toitū Settler's Museum is focusing on the Belgium campaign and October 12 1917 - known as New Zealand's worst day.

100 men from Otago and 2700 New Zealanders were killed or wounded at Bellevue Spur in just four hours.
