The Waitaki District Council voted to begin trials of keeping cars off of Harbour St on weekends at its February 15 meeting.

To celebrate some of the town's colourful characters are planning a party. Oamaru artist, and Harbour St tenant, Donna Demente says the trial Harbour St pedestrianisation is a positive move for the town.
