Police say they were called to the crash on Leith Valley Road around 6am.

Two patients were transported to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened on Leith Valley Road near the overhead bridge, which is close to the intersection with State Highway one.

It appears the car was travelling up the hill when the driver lost control.
