Full media coverage of Dunedin City Council meetings may be soon on the way.

The council will on Monday debate a recommendation to allow recordings with sound.

In the past 9 Local news has only been allowed to take footage without sound.

A report says there has been increased interest from media and the public in recordings of meetings.

But any change needs a 75% majority, as it requires a change to standing orders.
