The man in red may have had a wardrobe malfunction, but the baking sun and a massive crowd made for a vintage Dunedin Santa Parade yesterday.

It's the 20th year the event has been held in its current form.

Many thousands of children and adults lined George Street from North Dunedin to the Octagon, hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa.
