The wet weather didn't put a dampener on the 65th annual Dunedin to Brighton Veteran Car Rally on Saturday.

Around 30 vehicles converged on the Octagon.

The rally then took them along Kaikorai Valley Road, through Green Island and Waldronville, eventually finishing up at the Brighton Domain.

The heavy rain didn't deter the car enthusiasts, with many donning period costumes, to enjoy driving their treasures.

The Brighton Rally is the oldest continuous veteran rally in the southern hemisphere.

Veteran cars are classified as those built before 1919.
