Southern District Police will hold a drink driving operation tomorrow, aiming to hammer home the message that drinking and driving is unacceptable.
Senior Sergeant Steve Larking says alcohol is the most socially acceptable, commonly used drug in New Zealand, and contributes to about 30% of all fatal crashes on our roads.
Dunedin Emergency Response Commander, Inspector Alastair Dickie, says he wants the message to reach every Dunedin driver during tomorrow's operations.
Throughout the day strategic traffic, outstation and emergency response staff will be conducting checkpoints.
