Name suppression has been lifted for the man accused of murdering his 7 month old daughter in Nelson last month.

Kevin Little briefly appeared in the Dunedin District Court earlier today and was stood down while his bail application is considered.

The 27 year old was arrested by Nelson detectives at his family home near Balclutha yesterday and charged with the murder of Alyssa Little-Murphy in late March.

Police are seeking to have Little remanded in custody and for any further court proceedings to be transferred to Nelson.
