A Dunedin artist has opened an installation showcasing the many and varied qualities of plastic.

Housed at the Otago Pioneer Women's Memorial Hall, it charts the uses of the substance by early settlers up to the modern day.

And for the artist, it's a continuation of a lifelong passion.
