Local list MP Katherine Rich says there's no reason Don Brash should step down because of the Exclusive Brethren issue.

The National Party leader's admitted he's had further contact with the religious group since the election.

Rich says Brash has ruled out future meetings with the group, and that should be enough for those baying for his blood.

Rich has also revealed she's one of just three National MPs that didn't accept help from the Exclusive Brethren prior to last year's election.
