The Queenstown Lakes District Council is considering putting on the market, development rights for land once earmarked for a fifty-two million dollar convention centre.

The proposed convention centre was to have included a
seven-hundred-and-fifty seat meeting room, a huge banquet-exhibition hall, and other facilities.

At its meeting today, the council decided to seek public feedback on selling development rights to four hectares of the ten hectare block - once occupied by Lake View Holiday Park.
The matter is due to be considered again by the council next month.
