A female cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision with a car at a roundabout in Green Island this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Westland Street and Main South Road near Super Liquor just after noon.

Saint John spokesman Gerard Campbell says the 57 year-old woman was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The woman was riding a black Specialized road bike.

Fulton Hogan road workers assisted her before emergency services arrived.

A witness says there was blood from an injury to her face, but she'd managed to roll herself over and appeared conscious.
