A Queenstown rocker is hoping to hit the 'right note' in an 'international drumming competition.'

Thirty-four year-old, Patrick Brooks, is one of just a handful of Kiwis entered in 'The Shure Drum Contest' - a search to find the 'world's best hidden drumming talent.'
