A Dunedin man is about to put his IT and telecommunications skills to the test in the typhoon devastated Philippines.

Glenn Mitchell is a Civil Defence officer and Red Cross emergency response team member, and is heading to the city of Cebu.

He'll join a Red Cross team in a country reeling from thousands of deaths, and will have a hand in helping to find the many still missing.
