One of the sexual assaults reported last weekend has been exposed as a false complaint.

In a release this afternoon Dunedin Police say their investigations have determined the alleged offence in Blacket Lane didn't happen.

On January the 17th an 18-year-old woman reported she'd been taken into Blacket Lane and raped.

Meanwhile investigations are continuing into the sexual assult case from South Road last week.
