Well-known former Dunedin broadcasting identity Colin Lehmann has died after a short illness in Queensland.

Lehmann had a 44 year career in radio and television, spending several years as the premier breakfast announcer in Dunedin, with his alter ego Charlie Mouse.

He is survived by his wife Helen and from his previous marriage 2 daughters and a son.

A memorial service is planned for Dunedin later this month; Colin was 70 years old.
