The latest survey by the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research shows Kiwi businesses are feeling slightly more optimistic.

A net 44% of firms expected general business conditions to deteriorate in the next 6 months, against the previous quarter's net 49%.

Firms are not so pessimistic about their own short-term outlook, despite the economic slowdown.
