A Queenstown man will need surgery on his jaw after it was broken in a fight at the World Bar at the weekend.

Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, says police were called to the Church St bar about 1am Sunday morning.

The victim also lost a tooth after he was punched twice in the head.

Police say CCTV footage of the scuffle is 'inconclusive'.

They are appealing for anybody who was at the World Bar and can identify the offender to contact them.
