Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise has been spotted departing a helicopter at Queenstown Airport today.

The actor, and actors Simon Pegg and Henry Cavill are in the town filming on various sets around the area for the sixth instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise.

Pegg and Cavill have been posing for photos with locals, while Cruise has been seen getting out of various aircraft at the airport.

At least two sets are in operation in the area.

Matt black helicopters have been seen flying around the Kinloch set last week.
