A schoolgirl recognised as a talented leader by her teachers and peers has been handed an award by a celebrated athlete and conservation boss.

Department of Conservation Southern South Island director Aaron Fleming has awarded the Sir Peter Blake Trust's Young Leader Award to a 12-year-old pupil.
