The operating expenditure of Local Authorities, like the Dunedin City Council, has risen by more than %3 nationwide.
Statistics New Zealand figures released today show that while expenditure has increased, revenue has only slightly increased.
These increases have produced a seasonally adjusted operating deficit of more than $100,000,000, across the country.
Employee costs rose by more than $14,000,000 for the June quarter.
