The Otago Farmer's Market is to host the Dunedin City Council's first Public Places Recycling Stations from next weekend.

Three stations will each have an organic waste collection bin for a worm farm, a bin for mixed recycling, and one for non-recyclable material.

DCC Waste Strategy Officer, Cath Irvine, says the system will begin operating on site on September the 11th.

The council says members of the public will receive tuition in how to use the recycling scheme from local members of the Girl Guides and Brownies.
