Police are investigating the suspected arson of a house bus near Dunedin's Ross Creek reserve.

The extent of damage to the bus was revealed this morning.

It was destroyed last night, when firefighters were working to contain and extinguish the blaze.

The house bus was reported stolen from Otaki Street in South Dunedin last week.

It was later found abandoned in Burma Road, where it has remained since.

Owner Bruce Law reportedly converted the former school bus so he and his wife could live in it while renovating their Purakaunui home.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and police investigations are continuing.
