University of Otago students are increasingly downloading or viewing lectures online.

During the first semester 800,000 lectures were accessed, an increase of 50% on the same time last year.

Every week there are around 240 scheduled recordings.

The system was introduced last year and 90% of lecturers have chosen the automated option.
