The I-Site Dunedin Visitor Centre has been named Employer of the Year by the Navy Volunteer Reserve.

The annual award recognises the contribution employers make to the Navy by supporting their Naval reserve employees who take leave for military service.

I-Site employee Peter Campbell was able to complete a two week training course and contribute to a rescue effort last year.

The Information Centre says Campbell's involvement with the Navy has also benefited them, by strengthening his leadership and organisational skills.

The award is in its eighth year.
