The record for the annual Wanaka Challenge triathlon was smashed at the weekend by Oamaru athlete Dougal Allan.

Allan won for the second consecutive year and set a new course record. His time of eight hours, twenty six minutes and thirty eight seconds was almost eight minutes better than the previous record set in 2010.
