Two city councillors have marked the imminent end of almost a decade in the hot-bed of Dunedin politics.

Fliss Butcher and Bill Acklin used the last round of committee meetings before the election to farewell colleagues.

And there was time to acknowledge those in the background who sometimes cop the flak on controversial issues.
