Invercargill City Council and Rotary clubs have almost completed the New River Estuary Walkway beautification project over the weekend.

The shelters are made from macrocarpa timber salvaged from Otakaro Park when Queens Drive was widened in 2014.

ICC Parks manager Robin Pagan says a third shelter will be installed soon.

The walkway is near Bond Street in west Invercargill.
